The Power of Spoken Words

Thinking Before You Speak; a Personal Philosophy

Written by Annie Hessler

My Philosophy

The personal philosophy known as "thinking before you speak" incorporates the four tenets of honesty, success, hatred, and truth, as each plays an important role in what drives and powers words and their ability to do both good as well as harm.

Words have the power to crystallize perceptions; to shape your understanding of life and your personal beliefs. They drive our actions and choices and create our world (Lovering, 2022). The words that a person chooses to use can influence not only how they make others feel but also how they understand the world around them.

It is my hope that by reading this philosophy, you will be inspired to pause and reflect before you share your words and thoughts with others and that you will come to appreciate the influence that your words can have not only on you but also on those who share your world.
